Although most video software like Windows Movie Maker and various brands were fully commercialized, is there possible that some video software companies avail with Real Video codec format aside from VC-1, H.264, and MPEG format?

Trouble with VLC - video in avi files doesn’t show?

ch_ris_l asked:

VLC won’t show any video right now, not avi, not mkv, or any other major video file format.

Upon opening the player, I get the following:

motiondetect error: Failed to open description file motiondetect
main error: no suitable vout module
main error: cannot delete object (355, (null)) with children
motionblur error: cannot open vout, aborting
main error: video output creation failed
main error: cannot delete object (352, (null)) with children
main error: failed to create video output

Audio is perfect.

Other observations:
- Windows Media player half of the time works
- The DivX player and codec (this is for avi files) has the opposite problem: no audio, video only

Do you have any idea what could cause this?
